Interested in Becoming Catholic?
Faith Formation   >   Becoming Catholic (RCIA)

Are you considering becoming a Catholic?

Are you a baptized Catholic interested in being Confirmed?

Are you a Catholic who has returned to the Church and wants to explore the faith anew?

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process for conversion in exploring the Catholic faith. RCIA is a chance for people to learn the basics of what it means to be Catholic, to ask probing questions and to seek ways to more fully open their lives to Jesus.

RCIA is a nine-month journey (September through May) that prepares men and women to make a conscious choice to become full members of the Catholic Church. The journey is ordered around the four pillars of the Christian faith: doctrine, the sacraments, the moral life, and prayer.

During the year, candidates will experience life within the Catholic community through social events, mornings of reflections, and the celebrations of minor liturgical rites. The RCIA journey culminates on the night of Easter Vigil when candidates are fully initiated into the Church through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Communion.

  • Next session: The 2010-2011 RCIA program (Calendar) begins September 1st.
  • Contact Jeff Vehige (972-461-2797 or jeff.vehige@gmail.com) for more information.
