The 1983 Code of Canon Law introduced a new and separate consultative body to parish life. The Code states that "Each parish is to have a Finance Council which is regulated by universal law as well as by norms issued by the diocesan bishop."
The Finance Council of Saint Anthony Catholic Church is the principal consultative body for the business affairs of the parish. The Finance Council will support the objectives and priorities of the Pastoral Council, guided by the parish Strategic Pastoral Plan. Its responsibility is to recommend to the Pastor the most prudent and effective manner of providing the fiscal, capital and human resources necessary to the Pastoral mission of the parish. It is guided by the universal law of the Church, Diocesan policy and civil law. The Finance Council is a unit of service, not authority
