Seminarian Ignacio Olvera
About Our Parish   >   Our Seminarian Ignacio

My name is Ignacio Olvera, I am twenty-two years old and a seminarian for the Diocese of Dallas. I am originally from the state of Jalisco, Mexico. I felt the called to become a priest when I was about seven years old; this was thanks to God and the good example of the pastor at my home parish.

When I was fifteen years old, I decided to join the high school seminary in Aguascalientes, Mexico where I spent three years. After this, I began my studies at Conception Seminary College in Conception, Missouri. I began by studying a year of English (as a second language) and just finished my third year of philosophy.

I am quite glad to be here in St. Anthony’s parish this summer with all of you. Also, I’m very thankful for your warm welcome. I look forward to helping you, getting to know you and becoming part of this community. I will pray for all of you and I ask you to pray for me and for my vocation as well. May God bless you!
