Faith Formation
The parish community of Saint Anthony is dedicated to developing and maintaining a Faith Formation program that aids parents in the development of their child’s Catholic faith. This is a strong family-based program set in Catholic doctrine and tradition.
Our Faith Formation program is promoted through a continuous curriculum from preschool through high school. Our Catechists and Assistants are parents and other dedicated parishioners who volunteer their time and services. Children meet in a classroom setting and are taught using well-planned lessons, prayer, classroom activities, special programs and projects.
We recognize parents as a child’s first and foremost teacher of the faith; therefore, we expect involvement of parents at all levels in their Faith Formation. The Parish Catechetical Leader (along with the help of coordinators and volunteers) administers the program.

First Communion and Confirmation preparation is a two consecutive year program in Faith Formation:
1st Communion: 1st & 2nd grade (Communion 2nd grade).
Confirmation: 7th & 8th grade (Confirmation 8th grade).
If your child is in the 2"" grade and did not attend Faith Formation in the 1st grade then he/she will not be eligible to receive communion until the 3'" grade and so on.
If your child is in the 8th grader and did not attend Faith Formation in the 7th then he/she will not be eligible to receive Confirmation until the 9th grade and so on.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC) 2nd through 6th grade _1st Year of Faith Formation:
Children in the 2nd thru 6th grade who did not participate in the previous year of Faith Formation or did not participate in a Faith Formation program in another parish. This program is designed to help your child become more fully integrated into the life of the Church. These students will be eligible to receive their First Holy Communion the second year of Faith Formation.
