This week Women of Grace will be focusing on Chapter 2.
Last we learned God’s plan and will for each of us was in place before the foundations of the earth. God knew each one of us, what each of us will be doing, and at what time we will be doing it. God made each one of us women because he has a plan for us, and the time is now to put into action!
In chapter 2 we will learn about the different forms of prayer such as vocal, mental, the Rosary, contemplation, how to pray the different forms, and how Holy Mother Church and the Saints guide us now, and have guided Christians over the centuries, to come closer to God, and to discern His will for each one of us.
Prayer: Strength of the Abundant Life. The Theme of this discussion is when we are supported by consistent prayer; our daily lives will be transformed.
The Weekly Grace we are praying for is to have a regular, established time of prayer each day.
This sounds simple enough, until we try to implement it. It reminds one of how difficult it is to implement a New Year's resolution, and then stick with it. Some of us have learned along the way that sometimes on some days a very small prayer time is all we can squeeze in. Mother Theresa once told someone who was far busier than most of us are, that; in that case, he needed to pray twice as long as the average person needs to pray, each day!
One thing many women of grace have learned over the years is the power of the Holy Spirit's to transform us does lie in our prayer time. As women of grace, we are receptive to the Holy Spirit anytime, but those quiet times of silence, prayer, and reflection give us a special time and a quiet strength in order to "ponder in our hearts", as our Blessed Mother did, the world around us and God's will.
