Hi! My name is Meg Hetherington. My husband, Brett, and were married in 2005 and we have two amazing kids! Our daughter, Nikki (4), attends Little Saints and Scholars and our son, Nathan (11 months), will join us here as soon as he is old enough.
I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area in California. I moved to the Sacramento area to attend Sacramento State University. I graduated with a degree in Family Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Apparel Marketing and Design in 2002. I then attended the teacher credentialing program through San Francisco State University and Elk Grove Unified School District. I have eight years of teaching experience with EGUSD teaching first grade, a kindergarten/first grade combination class, and a first grade/second grade combination class.
My family moved to Wylie in 2010 when my husband’s job relocated us here. We were lucky to join St. Anthony and have our daughter attend school here last year. I am an active member of St. Anthony Moms (SAMS) and I’m excited to begin working here at LS&S!
I believe a meaningful learning experience is built on a cooperative effort between parent, child, and teacher. Thank you for entrusting your children to us. My philosophy of teaching is very simple. I love kids. I like to think of my students as extended family. Please be reassured that your children are in good hands. I believe in teaching children to be life-long learners through continuous modeling and positive reinforcement. I am an enthusiastic listener, motivator, researcher, and kid-watcher. I look forward to working with you and your children this year. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions! ?
